Our latest EEG was as difficult as you would probably expect. You would think the kids would get used to it, but honestly at this age even three months means a whole new stage of development and probably just enough time for them to pretty much forget the previous exam. Long story short, the readings came back with some confusing news. Though the EEG didn't show any deterioration indicating uncontrolled seizures, the reading came back really "slow." Actually so slow, that when the new ARNP from the neurology office called to go over the results with me she asked, "Well is he walking? Talking?" When I answered perplexed that of course he did those things, she seemed genuinely shocked and said something to the extent of that's amazing, because his background brain wave length came back so slow, she was expecting very little development.
We got that news while on our Newport Beach vacation, so naturally I was a little shaken for a few days, but eventually shook it off because overall we see Miles and he seems to be doing great. I don't know why his readings came back like that, we hope it's because we had just increased his vigabatrin following his weight gain, but whatever the reason there is no point in worrying about it, we are doing all we can. But still...
